Shane teaches 7th grade life science and coaches wrestling at Warren County Middle School in Front Royal, Virginia. Shane is a graduate of Warren County Public Schools and as a high school student spent a year studying abroad in Adelaide, South Australia.Shane is a U.S. Army veteran that holds two degrees: an A.A.S. in Physical Therapy Assisting from Tide Water Community College and a B.S. in Biology with a minor in secondary education from James Madison University.
As a teacher Shane enjoys “giving science a personality” and encourages student reflection on the global impact of their actions.

His international travels include Italy, Serenissima Repubblica di San Marino, Spain, Germany, Ecuador, the Galápagos Islands, and South Australia,. He enjoys traveling, reading, drawing, watching movies with his wife, good music, hiking, collecting and studying insects, and above all else…fishing! Shane lives in Front Royal with his beautiful wife Sherri and their little dog Izzie. One of Shane’s favorite quotes comes from Saint Augustine, “The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”
