High Point

The orientation was a great time to enhance our new friendships with our team members and our fearless leader. It was also a great oportunity to learn about what to expect on our trip. We met several previous GSE members that were able to provide great insight. I feel like I am ready to leave today, but there are still preparations to make.

Zone 33 and District 7570 Mojo

Zone 33 is "fired up" over the prospect of Team Tasmania making Rotary history in April 2011. Rubbing shoulders with the Big Cheese's of Rotary gives District 7570 big MOJO. Next opportunity to shine is Saturday March 12 at District Conference at the Homestead.

GSE Team Orientation

The team traveled to High Point, North Carolina this weekend for the 26th annual Rotary International Outbound Ambassadorial Scholar and GSE Team Orientation. The two day session included presentations from the Orientation Chair, Rotary Foundation Alumni Coordinator, past and present District Governors, GSE Alumni, Ken Morgan (past Rotary International Director), and other Rotarians with unique perspectives on international studies and travel.

It was a great opportunity to make friendships stronger, meet others who have been through similar experiences and to learn.  I’m so excited to be going to Tasmania and to be a part of such a strong organization.

"The orientation was sensational! Having time to meet other outgoing teams while learning about our responsibilities as recipients of Rotary Foundation awards was empowering and reassuring. Hearing the first hand accounts of GSE alumni regarding their personal experience was insightful and inspiring."
